Gabrielena (Gaby) Alcala

Gabrielena (Gaby) Alcala. is passionate about agile project execution to improve processes, make healthcare more patient-centered, and transition organizations to value-based care.  She is recognized for her abilities to learn fast, manage complex projects, work effectively with stakeholders, inspire teams, and consistently produce positive results in challenging environments.

Gaby has worked with leading organizations ranging from start-ups to large corporations for more than 20 years, including Community Care Cooperative (C3), CityblockHealth, Iora Health, Partners HealthCare (currently Mass General Brigham), BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting), and The World Bank. 

Her work spans strategic planning, new business and program development, and operational system re-design. She currently focuses on helping organizations transition to value-based care.  

Recent accomplishments  include:

  • Worked with nine Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) during the pandemic to rapidly design and implement a telehealth program that complemented in-person care. Increased the percentage of telehealth video visits by more than 40%
  • Collaborated with senior leaders at Iora Health, C3, Cityblock Health, and OnBelay Health to develop value-based and Medicare Risk Adjustment (RA) strategies. Achieved significant RA program improvements, including a 20% increase in accepted claims, a 40% boost in refreshable diagnosis report utilization, and a 10-20% compliant enhancement in the overall Risk Adjustment Factor (RAF)
  • Led a team to create a  referral system that increased efficiencies for 16 Iora primary care practices to submit referrals to specialists.
  • Re-designed complex processes for the multimillion-dollar implementation of EPIC Electronic Health Records and successfully implemented and managed an innovative Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement (PROMs) project at Partners HealthCare. 
  • Built, coached, and led effective cross-functional teams (i.e., IT, vendors, clinic managers, and others) at several organizations to meet ambitious goals while carefully balancing the needs of the projects with the often-competing demands of key stakeholders.

Gaby has an MA in Economics from the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics from Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in her native Venezuela. She is fluent in English and Spanish and speaks Intermediate French.

Andreina Sanabria

With a passion for driving innovation in healthcare, Andreina is a seasoned healthcare professional and consultant with a diverse background in executive leadership, project management, and business development. Andreina has been instrumental in shaping healthcare strategies internationally for prominent organizations such as Population Services International (PSI), East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, Fundación Proyecto Maniapure and  Mercantil Seguros.

With her strong Digital Health background, Andreina has played a pivotal role in studying and enhancing the local landscape for digital health in Latin America and the Caribbean, developing and implementing innovative business models, streamlining operations, evaluating  and implementing IT platforms, developing quality assurance programs and providing data driven insights for organizational growth.

During Andreina’s tenure as Interim Executive Director for Neighborhood PACE at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center, she demonstrated exceptional leadership in overseeing a Value-Based Model catering to the elderly population. Responsibilities included overseeing day to day clinical and health plan operations, budgeting, P&L management, and successful opening of a site. Notably, Andreina managed relationships and contracts with major healthcare entities such as CMS and the State of Massachusetts. She also served as a consultant for East Boston Neighborhood Health Center to improve their patient access and referrals departments. 

Andreina’s extensive experience also includes roles in business development and relationship management in organizations as Community Care Cooperative, Eliza Corporation and CTT. Additionally she pioneered the implementation of the first medical call center in Venezuela, serving the largest private health insurance in Venezuela, with 700,000 lives subscribed to the service.

Andreina holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from Boston College and a Bachelor in Business Administration from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela. Additionally, she completed a Social Entrepreneurship Program at INSEAD Business School in France.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Andreina is an active participant in social causes, serving as a Board Member for Fundaciòn Proyecto Maniapure, a non-profit organization delivering primary care and telehealth services in rural Venezuela, and as a Board Member of WYCA, Greater Boston Chapter, focused on racial justice, civil rights, and women’s empowerment.

Julita Mir

Dr. Mir is an Internist and Infectious diseases physician graduate of the Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her medical degree at the Universidad Central de Venezuela, where she developed a passion for community health. She has held multiple leadership positions over the last 20+ years, including being the Chief Medical Officer for DotHouse Health in Dorchester, MA, and most recently, the Chief Medical Officer of Community Care Cooperative (C3), a Massachusetts Medicaid Accountable Care Organization, where she led FQHCs thru their journey towards value-based models of care.

She has strong practical knowledge of primary care, community health, digital health, and health equity. Recognized for organizing, leading, and managing cross-functional teams, ensuring long-term success. She strongly advocates patient experience and engagement, which is evident in her program design and her passion for clinical medicine.

Her areas of expertise include value-based models of care, health equity, digital transformation, and population health management programs.

She maintains a clinical practice in Boston and strongly believes in building trust as a critical element for healthcare transformation. Dr. Mir lives in Massachusetts and enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family when not working.
